Women's Volleyball

The 1870 Society is proud to sponsor Ohio State University Athletics and support the Women's Volleyball program in the first for-profit Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) collective supporting Ohio State athletes. The organization was founded by a group of passionate, and experienced operators who are committed to helping Ohio State student-athletes navigate this complex and evolving world of NIL.

The Women’s Volleyball Program has positioned itself to being one of the top programs in the country while competing in the premier conference in the nation.

Since the arrival of head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg in 2020, the Ohio State women's volleyball team has continued to build upon its storied history. In the past four seasons the program has reached at least the NCAA regional semifinal three times, with the 2022 team making the first trip to the NCAA regional final since 2004.

The community has embraced the program as well. Since moving to the Covelli Center in 2019, the Ohio State women’s volleyball team has continued to set new attendance records. They averaged 3,680 fans per home match throughout the 2022 regular season, ranking sixth in the nation in average home attendance. The Buckeyes crushed their previous average home attendance record of 2,534 fans, which was set in 2021. This past season, the Buckeyes averaged 3,504 fans per home match and averaged the most fans during the season as a whole (3,609). The 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons hold the top-three home attendance averages in program history.

The program has excelled in the classroom as well. During the 2023-24 academic year, seven from the team earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.

Mac Podraza, Ohio State WVB Alumni

"I am forever grateful to be a buckeye. The experience I had at Ohio State for 4 years as a student-athlete was nothing short of amazing! Not just because of my teammates, coaches, staff and professors, but because nothing compares to the support of Buckeye Nation! From the fans in the stands, to the community involvement, to volunteer opportunities and internships! The volleyball element was obviously incredible, but the other opportunities off the court and support are what make being a student-athlete at OSU different. Without Buckeye Nation and your support, it’s just another college volleyball experience! Thankful to be a Buckeye for Life! O-H...."

Kylie Murr, Ohio State WVB Alumni

"After my time at Ohio State, I now feel a sense of pride and connection to a group of people and traditions. The university’s current level of accomplishment would not exist without Buckeye Nation. Buckeye Nation offers special opportunities, relationships and support. Beyond sports, Buckeye Nation, you have an impact on many aspects of our lives that we may never be able to fully reciprocate. Without Buckeye Nation, being a Buckeye would not be the same. We appreciate and always cherish your support. Go Bucks!"
