The 1870 Society Announces Tyvis Tries, Starring Ohio State Great Tyvis Powell
The 1870 Society is proud to announce Tyvis Tries, a new series featuring Ohio State football great Tyvis Powell, "the greatest athlete to walk planet Earth," as he tries his hand at competing against current Ohio State athletes in tennis, wrestling, ice hockey, fencing, and more!
Each week, Powell will compete against a current Ohio State student-athlete in their sport, on their turf. He'll try to return Robert Cash's serves, top Cotie McMahon in a game of P-I-G, outwrestle Sammy Sasso, and otherwise prove he's still got it while squaring off in unique NIL experiences for Buckeye student-athletes.
"We're going to compete, but obviously, I'm going to win," Powell said. "And I might teach them a thing or two about the sport that they love."
Tune into The 1870 Society's YouTube Channel each week to watch Tyvis take on some of Ohio State's best! The 1870 Society members can enjoy each episode 24 hours before the general public.
Tyvis Powell played safety for Ohio State from 2012 to 2015, winning a national championship in 2015, earning Defensive MVP honors in the CFP National Championship.
A native of Bedford, Ohio, Powell is the Director of Player Engagement for The 1870 Society, the first for-profit NIL collective supporting Ohio State athletics.
